JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

Skyline Views, Standout Dining, and Genuinely Warm Hospitality
Business Bay, Dubai Stayed as Marriott Bonvoy Gold 60th-Floor Room

When our daughter's first birthday came around, we decided to mark it with a family trip to Dubai. After looking at several luxury options, we chose JW Marriott Marquis Dubai — one of the tallest hotels in the world and one of Marriott's most distinctive properties. Located minutes from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, the hotel is known for its skyline views, its restaurants, and a consistently warm standard of hospitality.

🛎️

We stayed here as Marriott Bonvoy Gold members on a direct booking, before becoming preferred partners. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is now one of our preferred-partner properties — see the benefits available to guests who book through us at the end of this review.

LocationNear Burj Khalifa, With a Complimentary Shuttle

The hotel sits just a few minutes from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall — close enough to walk on a cooler evening, but the complimentary hotel shuttle is what we leaned on most.

The shuttle runs regularly between the hotel and Dubai Mall, and picks guests up on the return as well. Taxis in Dubai add up faster than expected — even for short distances — so the shuttle quickly became one of the small but meaningful benefits of the stay.

Check-inThe Upgraded Room, and a Birthday Welcome

Before our arrival, I had emailed the hotel to let them know we'd be celebrating our daughter's first birthday during the stay. The team acknowledged the request warmly, asked for a photograph of her, and confirmed a complimentary room upgrade in advance.

We were upgraded to a room on the 60th floor — easily one of the most memorable rooms we've stayed in. The room itself was spacious, elegant, and beautifully maintained. The floor-to-ceiling windows looked out across the city, framing Dubai's skyline like a painting.

Waiting for us on arrival was a quiet, thoughtful surprise — a birthday cake, fresh fruit, chocolates, and a personalised card for our daughter. It set the tone for the whole stay.

The ViewThe View That Stays With You

Being on the 60th floor is its own experience. Looking out the window almost felt like looking down from an aircraft, the city sprawling below in geometric lines.

After dinner on our first night, I ordered room service and spent a couple of hours simply sitting by the window, watching Dubai's skyline light up. The following morning was just as compelling in reverse — daylight slowly filling in the towers and the desert beyond.

The view from the room — Dubai lighting up across the evening.

Even the glass elevators became part of the experience. As they climb, the city unfolds in stages — the kind of small detail you don't expect to remember, but you do.

The hotel's upper-floor restaurants extend the same view further still, with several venues set high enough that the setting alone is reason to visit.

DiningTwo Standout Restaurants

Rang Mahal

If you're staying at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, Rang Mahal is hard to miss — and we're glad we didn't. It served some of the best Indian food we've had at a luxury hotel anywhere.

The Butter Chicken, the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the freshly baked naan were all outstanding — beautifully presented, properly seasoned, and cooked with confidence. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, it's well worth visiting Rang Mahal for dinner.

Bridgewater Tavern

Bridgewater Tavern sits beside the Dubai Water Canal and offers a completely different mood from the hotel's fine-dining rooms. It's a relaxed, outdoor canal-side setting — ideal for a slow lunch or evening drinks.

We spent a quiet afternoon there with pizza and beer, watching the canal go by. It turned into one of our favourite dining moments of the trip.

BreakfastA Marriott Standout

The breakfast buffet deserves a section of its own. It featured an enormous selection across Arabic, Indian, South Indian, continental, Asian, and international dishes — alongside live cooking stations, fresh juices, pastries, fruit, and made-to-order eggs. The kulchas were a particular highlight.

We stayed four nights, and never quite had the same breakfast twice. It remains one of the most generous breakfast buffets we've experienced at a Marriott property.

Service & HospitalityWarm, Attentive, and Memorably Personal

Service throughout the stay was warm, attentive, and consistent. The team remembered why we were there — and on our daughter's birthday morning, they brought a cake out at breakfast and gathered around the table to sing Happy Birthday. It was a small thing and an unforgettable thing, all at once.

On our final day, as Marriott Bonvoy Gold members we were also granted a 3:00 PM late checkout — letting us slow the last morning down and head straight to the airport rather than scrambling between hotel and flight.

OverallLuxury, Location, Dining, Service — All In One

From the skyline views and the upgraded room, to the dining at Rang Mahal and Bridgewater, the generous breakfast, the shuttle, and the genuinely thoughtful hospitality — JW Marriott Marquis Dubai exceeded the expectations we arrived with.

It combines luxury, location, dining, and service in a way that feels effortless rather than engineered. Whether you're in Dubai for a celebration, a holiday, or simply looking for one of the city's finest Marriott properties, it stays among our favourite Marriott stays to date — one we'd happily return to.
