For years, The Oberoi Mumbai has been my usual choice whenever I've visited the city. On a recent solo trip for a meeting, I decided to try something different and chose Trident Nariman Point next door. After the stay, I can confidently say it was an excellent decision. Located right at Nariman Point, the hotel enjoys one of Mumbai's most iconic settings — spectacular views over Marine Drive and the Arabian Sea, in an address that's difficult to beat for a South Mumbai luxury stay.
This was a personal visit — my first at Trident Nariman Point after several stays at The Oberoi Mumbai next door. Both are excellent Marine Drive stays and we'd happily recommend either one. If your pick is The Oberoi Mumbai — a step higher in the luxury tier — it's one of our preferred-partner properties; see the benefits available when you book The Oberoi through us at the end of this review.
Location & First ImpressionsAn Iconic Nariman Point Address
Trident Nariman Point occupies one of Mumbai's most enviable stretches of coastline. The hotel sits directly on Nariman Point, looking straight out over Marine Drive and the Arabian Sea — the kind of view very few properties in the city can match.
The arrival sets the tone. The lobby is elegant and calm, and the team at check-in was warm and attentive from the first moment — a small thing, but the kind of small thing that quietly signals what the rest of the stay is going to feel like.
Room & ViewsExecutive Ocean View on the 30th Floor
I stayed in an Executive Ocean View Room on the 30th floor, and the view was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the property.
The room itself was elegant, comfortable, and well maintained — but it was the floor-to-ceiling views of Marine Drive and the Arabian Sea that made it special. The view holds up throughout the day and becomes particularly striking after sunset, when the coastline lights up along Marine Drive's long curve.
If you're staying here, I'd strongly recommend choosing an Ocean View room on a higher floor. The additional cost is genuinely worth it for the view alone.
Club Room BenefitsThe Real Reason to Upgrade
The Club Room experience is one of the strongest reasons to consider upgrading at Trident Nariman Point. Included with the tier:
- — Guaranteed late checkout until 6:00 PM
- — Complimentary one-way airport transfer
- — Club Lounge access
- — Butler service
- — Complimentary laundry
- — Food and beverage service during Club Lounge hours
The 6 PM guaranteed late checkout is particularly worth calling out — it's an unusually generous benefit and can be extraordinarily valuable for guests with an evening flight or a full workday of meetings before departure.
The complimentary airport transfer is the other benefit that made a real difference. The hotel arranged a clean, well-maintained Innova with bottled water waiting inside; the driver was professional and punctual, and the ride to the airport was smooth and comfortable.
The Club LoungeMarine Drive from Above
The Club Lounge sits high in the building with beautiful views over Marine Drive and the Arabian Sea — a very relaxing setting for both afternoon refreshments and evening drinks.
Service was excellent throughout. The team was attentive, prompt, and proactive without ever tipping into intrusive. The afternoon tea and snacks were very good, and the evening selection worked particularly well alongside drinks. The overall lounge experience felt polished and comfortable, with the same spectacular views as the guest rooms.
BreakfastSolid and Consistent
Breakfast at Trident Nariman Point offered a very good selection of Indian and international options — eggs, parathas, fruits, beverages, tea, coffee, and the usual breakfast staples across both cuisines.
It isn't the most extravagant buffet I've experienced at a luxury hotel, but the quality was consistently good and there was more than enough choice for a proper, unhurried start to the day.
Service & HospitalityWarm, Attentive, Unshowy
Hospitality was one of the strongest aspects of the stay.
From the welcome at the lobby to the Club Lounge and restaurant teams, everyone was warm, attentive, and consistently professional. The service felt personal without ever becoming intrusive — a difficult balance to strike, and one this property clearly understands.
OverallTrident Earns Its Place
Trident Nariman Point offers a combination that's difficult to replicate elsewhere in Mumbai: an iconic Marine Drive address, spectacular ocean views, genuinely valuable Club benefits, and a service culture that's warm without being fussy.
The 30th-floor Ocean View room, the Club Lounge experience, the guaranteed 6 PM checkout, and the complimentary airport transfer all combined to make this a particularly enjoyable stay. Having stayed several times at The Oberoi next door over the years, I was curious to see how Trident would compare — and after this experience, Trident Nariman Point has certainly earned a place among my preferred hotels in Mumbai.
If you're looking for a luxury hotel with exceptional Marine Drive views and want to make the most of your stay with Club benefits, Trident Nariman Point is genuinely worth considering — especially in a Club Room with an Ocean View.
